MWR-108 — Jehovah’s Witnesses continues the Remnant Bible Academy’s Major World Religions courses with a thorough, Scripture-grounded examination of one of the largest and most active religious movements to emerge from nineteenth-century America. The course traces the movement’s history from Charles Taze Russell’s Bible Student movement through Joseph Franklin Rutherford’s reorganization and the 1931 adoption of the Jehovah’s Witnesses name, then works through its organizational structure today — from the Governing Body down through branch offices, traveling overseers, elders, ministerial servants, and publishers — and its distinctive style of worship at the Kingdom Hall. It examines the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ own Bible, the New World Translation, in real depth — its translators, its manuscripts, and its revisions — before placing the NWT side-by-side with the NKJV across fourteen key Old and New Testament verses to expose its systematic mistranslation of passages that testify to Christ’s deity and the divine name. The course then works through core Jehovah’s Witnesses doctrines point by point, refuting each one directly from Scripture — the denial of the Trinity and of Christ’s full deity, soul sleep and annihilationism, the two classes of the redeemed, and more — before surveying other unusual beliefs and practices and closing with a sober, honest assessment of the movement’s true, non-Christian nature. Extensive photography and 128 cited sources support the material throughout. Required coursework for the Ministerial Ordination Program’s Major World Religions requirement, and valuable to any student who wants a thorough, honest, Scripturally grounded understanding of Jehovah’s Witnesses — their history, their organization, and their beliefs.
