MWR-105 — Hinduism continues the Remnant Bible Academy’s Major World Religions courses with a thorough, Scripture-grounded examination of the world’s third-largest religion. The lesson opens with Hinduism’s origins, general nature, and name, then turns to its sacred texts — the Vedas, Upanishads, Puranas, and more — and a survey of Hindu deities, from the Trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva to dozens of other gods and goddesses. It examines Hindu cosmology, the Hindu calendar and its holy days and festivals, Hindu religious leadership, and core Hindu religious beliefs, including karma, samsara, and moksha. A dedicated section works through yoga in real doctrinal depth — its six branches and its actual spiritual aims, not the exercise-class caricature familiar in the West — followed by Hinduism’s sacred rivers and sacred cows, its major denominations and the Hare Krishna movement, and the caste system. The course closes with a concise history of Hinduism and a survey of its current status worldwide and in the West. Extensive photography and 138 cited sources support the material throughout. Required coursework for the Ministerial Ordination Program’s Major World Religions requirement, and valuable to any student who wants a thorough, honest, Scripturally grounded understanding of Hinduism — its beliefs, its practices, and its history.
