1. Welcome and Purpose

The Berean Fellowship Community (“the Community”) is the Student-Only home of The Remnant Bible Academy (“RBA,” “the Academy”). It exists to provide a space where students can pursue serious, disciplined study of Scripture together — asking questions, testing ideas, encouraging one another, and growing in the whole counsel of God’s Word.

The Community takes its name and its posture from the Bereans of Acts 17:11, who received the Word with eagerness and searched the Scriptures daily to confirm what they were taught. These Guidelines exist to protect that same posture within our Community: a place of rigorous, honest, Christ-centered fellowship, free from the noise, hostility, and shallow engagement that characterize much of the internet.

These Guidelines apply to every space, discussion thread, direct message, comment, and profile within the Community, and to every member — students, Instructors, Moderators, Partners, and the Administrator alike. They should be read together with RBA’s Statement of Faith, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy, all of which govern the Community as well as the wider Academy.

2. Membership and Eligibility

Access to the Berean Fellowship Community is limited to enrolled RBA students and other individuals specifically authorized by RBA (such as Instructors and Ministry Partners). Membership is not open to the general public.

Minimum Age Requirement: Consistent with RBA’s website-wide policy, membership in the Berean Fellowship Community is restricted to individuals eighteen (18) years of age or older. No individual under the age of 18 may register for, access, or participate in the Community under any circumstance.

Membership is a privilege extended by RBA, not a right. RBA reserves the sole discretion to approve, decline, suspend, or revoke membership at any time, for any reason consistent with these Guidelines and RBA’s Terms of Service.

3. Community Roles

The Community operates under a defined set of roles, each carrying distinct responsibilities:

  • Administrator — Holds ultimate oversight and authority over the entire Community, including all Spaces, moderation decisions, and platform configuration.
  • Moderator — Appointed by the Administrator to oversee and moderate one or more specific Spaces, enforcing these Guidelines within their assigned area.
  • Instructor — An RBA teaching faculty member who may lead discussion, answer questions, and provide academic guidance within relevant Spaces.
  • Member (Student) — An enrolled RBA student participating in coursework and fellowship within the Community.
  • Partner — An individual who provides financial support to the ministry and has been granted Community access as a Ministry Partner.

Badges displayed on member profiles reflect these roles. Members are expected to treat Moderators’ and Instructors’ guidance within their designated Spaces with the same respect due any classroom or fellowship setting.

4. Core Values of This Community

Every Space, post, and conversation in the Berean Fellowship Community should reflect the following values:

  • Doctrinal Seriousness — Discussion should reflect careful, honest engagement with Scripture, consistent with RBA’s Statement of Faith, not casual speculation presented as settled teaching.
  • Bereans, Not Bystanders — Members are encouraged to test what they hear against Scripture themselves, ask thoughtful questions, and engage actively rather than passively.
  • Charity in Disagreement — Theological disagreement is expected and welcome when handled with grace; personal attacks, mockery, and contempt are not.
  • Edification Over Entertainment — Content should build up the Body of Christ, not merely generate engagement, controversy, or attention.
  • Confidentiality of Fellowship — What is shared in trust — prayer requests, personal struggles, testimonies — stays within the Community and is not to be screenshotted, shared, or repeated outside it without the member’s permission.

5. Standards of Conduct

By participating in the Community, every member agrees not to:

  • Post or promote content that is doctrinally deceptive, deliberately divisive, or intended to provoke discord contrary to the spirit of Christian fellowship.
  • Harass, abuse, threaten, demean, or mock any other member, Instructor, Moderator, or the Administrator.
  • Use language that is vulgar, obscene, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate for a Christian academic community.
  • Post content that is unlawful, defamatory, or that infringes on the intellectual property or privacy rights of any third party.
  • Solicit other members for commercial purposes, outside ministry promotion, multi-level marketing, or personal financial gain, except where explicitly permitted by RBA.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity, credentials, or affiliation with RBA.
  • Proselytize aggressively against RBA’s Statement of Faith within Community Spaces, or attempt to recruit members into a separate organization, ministry, or cause without RBA’s prior consent.
  • Share screenshots, recordings, or reproductions of private Community discussions, prayer requests, or direct messages outside the Community without the consent of those involved.
  • Upload viruses, malicious links, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Community platform or the accounts of other members.
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access, extract, or repost Community content without RBA’s express written consent.

Violations of these standards may result in content removal, a formal warning, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the Community, at the sole discretion of the Administrator or the relevant Space Moderator.

6. Doctrinal Discussion and Disagreement

RBA welcomes sincere theological inquiry and multi-denominational fellowship. Members are free to ask hard questions, raise honest doubts, and discuss differing traditions with charity. However, because RBA teaches from a specific, stated doctrinal position articulated in its Statement of Faith, Moderators and Instructors reserve the right to redirect, close, or remove discussion threads that:

  • Directly and repeatedly contradict RBA’s Statement of Faith in a manner intended to undermine RBA’s teaching rather than to sincerely inquire about it.
  • Function as a platform to actively recruit students away from RBA’s doctrinal position or into a competing teaching, without regard for the purpose of the Space.
  • Devolve into personal attacks, sarcasm, or contempt rather than substantive engagement with Scripture.

This is not a prohibition on questions or respectful disagreement — it is a boundary against discussion conducted in bad faith or aimed at division rather than understanding.

7. Community Spaces

The Community is organized into distinct Spaces, each with its own purpose and, in most cases, an assigned Moderator. Members should keep discussion within a given Space relevant to that Space’s stated purpose. Posting off-topic content, excessive self-promotion, or repeated cross-posting of the same content across multiple Spaces is discouraged and may be moderated or removed.

New Spaces may be added, renamed, merged, or archived at RBA’s discretion as the Community and curriculum evolve.

8. Leaderboard, Badges, and Recognition

The Community includes a leaderboard and badge system designed to recognize sustained engagement, faithful study, and meaningful contribution to the Community over time. Rank and badges are earned through genuine participation — not through gaming the system, excessive low-value posting, or coordinated activity intended to inflate standing artificially.

RBA reserves the right to adjust leaderboard standing, remove badges, or reset recognition in cases of manipulation, abuse, or violation of these Guidelines.

9. Reporting Concerns and Moderation Process

Any member who observes a violation of these Guidelines is encouraged to report it directly to the relevant Space Moderator or to the Administrator, rather than engaging publicly with the offending content. Reports are handled discreetly and are not shared publicly.

Moderation decisions are made at the discretion of RBA’s Moderators and Administrator. While RBA seeks to apply these Guidelines fairly and consistently, moderation of a Christian fellowship community necessarily involves pastoral judgment as well as rule application, and RBA’s decisions in this regard are final.

Members who believe a moderation decision was made in error may request review by contacting the Administrator using the information in Section 12. Filing such a request does not guarantee reversal of the original decision.

10. Privacy Within the Community

Members should be thoughtful about what personal information they share within the Community. While the Community is Student-Only and not open to the general public, content shared here is visible to other members and, in some cases, to Moderators and the Administrator for oversight purposes. Members should refer to RBA’s Privacy Policy for information about how their data is collected, used, and protected across RBA’s Services generally.

Prayer requests, testimonies, and personal disclosures shared within the Community should be received with the same confidentiality expected in any healthy local church fellowship. Sharing another member’s personal disclosures outside the Community without their consent is a serious violation of these Guidelines.

11. Changes to These Guidelines

RBA may update these Community Guidelines from time to time to reflect the needs of a growing Community, changes to the platform, or changes to RBA’s policies generally. When material changes are made, RBA will update the “Last Updated” date above and, where appropriate, post a notice within the Community. Continued participation in the Community after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Guidelines.
