Biographical Overview

Rick Renner (b. January 23, 1956) is an American Bible teacher, author, and pastor known internationally for his teaching on New Testament Greek word studies and his decades of ministry work across the former Soviet Union. He is the founder of RENNER Ministries, overseer of the Good News Association of Churches, founder of Moscow Good News Church, and president of GNC (Good News Channel), the largest Russian-language Christian satellite network in the world.

Education & Formation

Renner is a graduate of Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas, and later earned a Bachelor’s degree in theology from Wagner Leadership Institute in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Ministry & Professional History

In 1991, Renner and his wife, Denise, moved to the former Soviet Union to begin ministry work; two years later they founded the Riga Good News Church in Latvia. In 2000, the Renners relocated to Moscow to found the Moscow Good News Church, and in 2007 launched a sister congregation, the Kiev Good News Church, in Ukraine. Renner serves as overseer of the Good News Association of Churches and pastor of the Internet Good News Church, and he founded Media Mir and GNC (Good News Channel), which broadcasts Christian programming twenty-four hours a day via satellite and internet to Russian-speaking audiences worldwide. He also founded RENNER Ministries, headquartered in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, which produces his globally syndicated television program.

Renner’s teaching centers on New Testament Greek word studies, biblical history, and practical Christian discipleship, applying detailed linguistic and historical background to Scripture for a general audience. He has also taught extensively on the history of the seven churches of Revelation, drawing on years of on-location research in Turkey and the broader region of the former Roman Empire.
