Getting Started at The Remnant Bible Academy
Everything you need to know before you begin — whichever course you’re starting.
Welcome to The Remnant Bible Academy. Before you dive in, take a minute to read through how things work here — it’ll save you time and confusion later, and this one page covers everything, so it’s the only place you’ll need to come back to.
What You’ll Find Here
The Academy is built around three families of courses, and they all work the same way.
The Remnant Bible Study Course is our flagship, a three-Level study that takes you from the foundations of the faith through to living it out. Major World Religions looks honestly at what the world’s religions actually teach and how they compare with Scripture. Focused Studies are shorter, single-subject lessons on the questions people actually ask — holidays and their real origins, movements and groups you’ve heard about, and subjects the Church often skirts around.
You’re free to take them in any order you like, with one exception that’s explained further down.
Before You Begin
We’re offering these courses for your own personal growth and deepening walk with Christ. You’ll almost certainly encounter a point of doctrine or theology somewhere along the way that you don’t fully agree with — that’s fine. Take it to prayer, and ask the Holy Spirit to lead you into truth. What we won’t do is engage in argumentative debate over doctrine — we teach what we’ve been shown by the Holy Spirit, we live it out daily, and we’re not interested in relitigating it point by point over email. If you’re here to build real, orthodox, New Testament Biblical understanding, you’re exactly where you should be.
How to Enroll
Create a free account on The Remnant Bible Academy website. Once you’re signed in you’ll land in the Community, and Courses in the top menu lists everything you have access to. Open whichever course you want to begin and start with Part 1.
By enrolling, you agree to our Enrollment Agreement.
Taking a Course
Every course is broken into Parts, and you work through them in order. The material is presented right there on the site, so you can read straight through it in your browser.
Every course also comes with a downloadable PDF of the full lesson, and you’ll find it at the bottom of Part 1. Print it out and mark it up — highlight, underline, take notes, whatever helps you study.
Once you’ve worked through all the Parts, you’ll come to the course quiz, which always sits at the end. Quizzes are open book — you’re welcome to reference the lesson material and your Bible while answering.
Grading & Retakes
Every quiz carries a passing score of 70%, and you’ll need to reach it before the course will count as finished. If you come up short, just take it again — there’s no limit on retakes and nothing you need to request. All of our quizzes are open book and open lesson, so go back through the material and have another run at it.
One thing to expect if you don’t reach 70%: the Complete Lesson button will not work for you, and you’ll see a message saying you are not allowed to complete this lesson. Nothing is broken and nothing is stuck — it only means the quiz needs another run. Take it again, pass it, and then click Complete Lesson.
Since the quiz sits at the end of every course, this is also the answer if a course is showing less than 100% and you can’t work out which part you missed. Nine times out of ten it’s the quiz waiting on a passing score, or a passed quiz where Complete Lesson was never clicked.
The Remnant Bible Study Course
Everything above applies to the RBSC just as it does to everything else. There are three things that are particular to it.
The Levels run in order. Levels 1 through 3 are meant to be taken in sequence, each one finished before you move on to the next. Each Level builds directly on the one before it, so working through them in order is what makes the whole course hold together. Levels 2 and 3 open to you as you complete the one before.
Each Level ends with a Final Exam. It’s cumulative — 25 questions drawn from every lesson in that Level, 18 multiple choice and 7 true or false. There are no essay questions. The same rules you’ve been working under all along still apply: open book, 70% to pass, no time limit, and no limit on retakes if you come up short.
Read the Final Exam Instructions first. You’ll find that page sitting just above the exam itself, in the last section of each Level. One thing it covers is worth saying twice here — after you submit the exam and see your score, you still need to click Complete Lesson. Passing the exam on its own doesn’t mark the Level finished.
Need Help?
Once you’re logged in and enrolled, you’ll have access to a dedicated Contact Instructors page to reach David or James directly with any questions. In the meantime, our general Contact page is always open.
It’s our prayer that you find the Academy to be the richest, most life-changing study of God’s Word you’ve undertaken. Take a moment now to clear your mind and ask the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you as you begin.
